As a measure of goodwill in the community and appreciation for the hard work of our firefighters, the physicians at Pain Management and Injury Relief (PMIR) Medical Center rallied together on Tuesday, April 24th to support Simi Valley Fire Station #41 with a lunch and educational lecture on preventing acute injuries from becoming chronic pain. Firefighters put their lives on the line every day to protect us, and their invaluable service unfortunately exposes them to a high risk of injuries. Our physicians feel compelled to reach out to our brave service men and women, to provide them with educational resources as well as complimentary consultations.
The most important thing people can do to prevent developing chronic pain is to be diagnosed early by an experienced pain specialist, and to understand what treatment options are safe and available to their specific condition in their communities. We thank the Simi Valley Firefighters for welcoming us in their station!
